A New Era<\/h3>\n

Our team at SQ Innovation has developed Lasix\u00a0SQF, a novel drug formulation and a subcutaneous Infusor to provide hospital IV-strength diuresis for at-home use<\/a><\/strong>. A small volume of a novel formulation of Lasix has been developed to be administered by our mini patch pump Infusor.<\/p>\n

Subcutaneous drug delivery is not new \u2013 it was first developed in 1853 \u2013 but we want to make it convenient, comfortable, affordable, and ready for widespread distribution.<\/p>\n

Lasix SQF is currently under development and is not yet approved by the U.S. FDA.<\/p>\n

Does it Work?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Subcutaneous drug delivery is one of the oldest methods to administer medicines. The results are generally excellent, often comparable to IV drug delivery.<\/p>\n

The medicine may not act as fast as with an IV but for many drugs therapeutic levels and effects are achieved in 30 minutes, and the patient does not need to be in a medical facility to receive treatment.<\/p>\n

Our goal is to bring subcutaneous drug delivery to broad clinical use. It takes the right formulation and device to do this.<\/p>\n

Lasix SQF introduces a new treatment paradigm \u2013 an option to provide \u201cIV-strength\u201d treatment outside an acute care setting.<\/p>\n

Our next generation Infusor can be recharged and used for 48 treatments. The only thing you throw away is the single-use component. This markedly reduces cost and is better for the environment.<\/p>\n

Who is a Good Candidate?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Good candidates are hard to define. It is less about the patient, than it is on timing and circumstances. It is easier to define what patients and circumstances are unsuitable.<\/p>\n

Timing is critical. A good candidate today may be unsuitable in a couple of days, or even tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Clinicians need to evaluate the patient and the environment where the patient may be treated outside the acute care hospital to determine if Lasix SQF is a good option.<\/p>\n
