The study looked at two result outcomes related to pharmacodynamic parameters.<\/p>\n<p>Lasix SQF resulted <strong>in similar results in terms of diuresis <\/strong>(amount of urine output)<strong> and natriuresis <\/strong>(amount of sodium in urine) when compared to IV furosemide. On average Lasix SQF resulted in 3.5L diuresis over 24hrs when compared to 3.0L with IV.<\/p>\n<p>Diuresis is more spread-out with the slow infusion when compared to IV bolus. It starts slightly later but lasts considerably longer. _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_margin=&#8221;|||0px|false|false&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3>PHARMACOKINETICS<\/h3>\n<p>Pharmacokinetics is the activity of drugs in the body over time, including the processes by which drugs are absorbed, distributed in the body, localized in the tissues, and excreted.<\/p>\n<p>The plasma furosemide time curves show the expected differences:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>IV bolus results in a very high peak value that is about 7 times higher than the average maximum level with the 5hr infusion<\/li>\n<li>Plasma levels with the Infusor reach levels sufficient for diuresis in less than 1hr<\/li>\n<li>Effective plasma levels are maintained for more than 6 hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The second study conducted at the University of Glasgow showed that the Lasix SQF Infusor in hospitalized heart failure patients performed well.\u00a0 Plasma levels at 1 and 4 hours \u00a0after start resulted in similar plasma levels as the first study.<\/p>\n<p>This study showed that more than enough Lasix\u00ae SQF stayed in the body long enough to provide appropriate and effective therapeutic treatment.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_2&#8243; One Infusor came loose after approximately 1 hour and 25 mins.
